Some kids want new video game systems for Christmas, other want a new bike. Jamie the moron wants Turbo Man and you listener of course wanted a Christmas edition of GTTP. Enjoy and happy holidays to our listeners!
Well listeners, this may be it. Ryan may have finally broken this podcast with his relentlessly terrible movie choices. This week's movie is one of the most aggressively bad films covered in GTTP history. Tune in for Zach Morris, a college freshman who looks like a father of two and an actual 32 year old in the suicide centric college romp of the year.
The season for Macaulay Culkin is here. No, we aren't doing Home Alone, we already did that. No we aren't doing Home Alone 2...yet. We ARE doing the R rated Culkin psychopath movie where him and Elijah Wood battle to the death while his parents....are somewhere.
What if we took a fish out of water and then put it into water just with buildings instead of mountains around it? Well, then you would have the premise of Next of Kin.
This weeks' episode matches our technical prowess with the technical ability of the plot of our movie. Sorry for any audio issues we couldn't get it together this week. Then again, this movie is so terrible maybe it's not bad thing.
It's the age old town of a town being terrorized by a local political figure who refuses to acknowledge a sinister issue in his town in order to maintain his grip on power. That's right we're doing the Steven Spielberg iconic classic Jaw - excuse me? I'm sorry, I've been informed this movie is actually something called Arachnophobia? Well anyway it's the spider movie with the fantastic John Goodman role. You know what it is now Get to the Podcast or a spider will crawl on your face when you go to bed tonight.
Do you like your turn your brain off Sci-Fi Thrillers to have a touch of sexual assault? THEN BOY DO WE HAVE THE MOVIE FOR YOU! 2000's Kevin Bacon erotic horror movie HOLLOW MAN. A comically indestructible villain, an extremely bland Josh Brolin, and non stop dark sexual energy. This one has it all. Time to Get To The Podcast!
Bad acting? Check. Lame and boring action? Check. Shameless Matrix plot and bullet time thievery? BIG TIME CHECK. This week (for some reason) Kevin and Ryan are subjecting themselves to 2001's Jet Li vehicle THE ONE. Please don't watch this piece of junk but you can still GET TO THE PODCAST!
The people have spoken, and for this year, GTTP will be tackling Scream for Halloween! One of the last horror classics to be made, this one has a lot going on. The rules of horror are put to the test as a bunch of people in their mid 20's attempt to play 16 year olds in Woodsboro, the whitest town in fictional America. Make sure you tune in or else your parents are going to be so mad at you.
Tune in this week to find out how General Irwin's negligent actions as a 3 star general will now work as a means to clean up the extremely corrupt Castle military prison. Also come get some fantastic motivation from Robert Redford, the likes we have no seen outside of Sylvester Stallone in Rocky Balboa.
The movie Ghost: Nothing breaks our hearts like a movie starring a ghost coming to terms with everything they must leave behind on Earth. Especially when it's a storybook romance with your gorgeous soulmate, your new friend, the hilarious and mysterious Oda Mae Brown, and a future in the finance industry that is bankrolling a seemingly priceless pottery collection.
Let's take a trip down memory lane in West Canaan Texas. Remember the times you were on the Coyotes and in the prime of your life. Certainly don't think about your current day life where your son is a backup QB who has disappointed you by merely getting a full ride to an Ivy league university. He couldn't even knock your Lone Star off your head from 8 yards away. Sorry, this was meant to be a writeup about Varsity Blues but it turned into a supportive letter to Mr. Moxon.
This week's movie features a disgusting portrayal of Atlantic City, New Jersey. This movie supposes that police officers in this lovely destination town are easily bribed, on drugs, gambling and committing crimes of their own... Ok this movie portrays Atlantic City. Nic Cage plays Rick Santoro, a manic dirtbag with a heart of gold attempting to solve a who done it mystery, only it's extremely obvious who done it from the opening credits. Get to the Podcast and hit the jackpot!
Magic is real! Or at least a blind guy can see? Or maybe this is just a universe full of conmen ranging from ages 8 to 65? We...don't...know. Red Lights is a uniquely ridiculous movie that the duo had to tackle eventually. The guys take turns having their heads explode as they witness the world's first Nicolas Cage impression, Sigourney Weaver will her character to death to escape acting in this atrocity halfway through, and of course, Bobby D levitating. This is a film that deserves to be seen because even our best attempts to describe it don't fully do it justice but please Get to the Podcast and hear our best attempts to do so.
GTTP is getting back to some good ole' fashioned JCVD fun this week with 1995's SUDDEN DEATH! Can a movie with a Van Damme vs Penguins mascot fight be taken seriously? Is offering booze and cigarettes to a child the key to a good 90's action villain? Is there such a thing as being ranked a "top fire fighter in the nation?" Get to the Podcast to find out the answers to these questions and more!
GTTP is going with a slightly obscure one this week.... BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! What do you get when you combine a painfully phoned in Bruce Willis, Halle Berry 5 years removed from a best actress win doing Razzie caliber work, and an ending that features a character explaining the plot for twenty straight minutes? Why 2007's PERFECT STRANGER of course! This one was... a doozy. Time to Get to the Podcast!
EPISODE 122: Yet again, two men enter...ones leaves...OR DO THEY?! For once GTTP is in agreement (somewhat) this week with the Kevin Costner career killer WATERWORLD. Has any movie in history featured this many explosions? Can the world of Mad Max be transported to any setting imaginable and succeed (Answer: yes) Did Dennis Hopper have the best movie villain run of the 90's? Time to Get to the Podcast and get the answers to these questions and more!
Was the rain harder than other rain because of flooding? Was it physically painful to be outside during the rain becuase it was heavier than regular rain? We go deep this week trying to define the hardness of this rain that Christian Slater was dealing with on GTTP. So press play and get your hard hitting rain analysis.
GTTP is going back to the late 90's Sci Fi Horror well this week with 1997's MIMIC. What do you get when you combine Alien, The Thing, and Oscar Winning director Guillermo Del Toro? Apparently a mostly underwhelming sometimes insultingly dumb piece of garbage! Time to Get to the Podcast and listen to Kevin and Ryan break down this train wreck.
I'm sick of these motherfuckin' podcasters not having an episode about motherfuckin' Snakes On A Plane! Everybody strap in!
GIDDY UP PARTNERS! Get to the Podcast is getting back to the western this week with the brat pack gem YOUNG GUNS II. Can Cali make it through the episode without falling asleep? A movie featuring GTTP icons Emilio Estevez and Christian Slater is surely enough to keep him awake right? IS THE WESTERN WELL FULLY TAPPED FOR GTTP? (Spoiler alert: it's not). Saddle up you tenderfoots and Get to the Podcast!
It's a debate for the movie ages this week on GTTP: Is over the top Nic Cage good Nic Cage? If you've never seen this one we've got you covered with plenty of batsh&% crazy clips to help answer the question. What constitutes a Cult Classic? If a drama makes you laugh out loud is that the sign of a good movie? DID NIC CAGE RUIN POOR ROBERT BIERMAN (the director)'s CAREER FOR ALL OF ETERNITY? You know what to do. Get to the Podcast to find out the answers to these questions and more!
A doctor, an alien, and an empath walk into a bar, stop me if you've heard this one before. This is one for the record books, our movie this week is 1995's Species. If this week's movie teaches you anything it's probably that diabetic people are losers, I think? Or maybe it's that hiring the effects guy from Alien doesn't mean your movie should try to be Alien. We can't really tell you one way or another, this is an outright insane movie that needs to be seen to be believed, So Get to the Podcast and figure out what's going on.
Michael Douglas is back in the spotlight this week as his quest to get America more erotic carries onward with Fatal Attraction. Did Mike ruin his life just to get laid yet again? You know it. This time the apple of his eye is the lovely Alex Forest. A woman who tries to contain her crazy and successfully does so for upwards of 10 hours. A true accomplishment in the world of the erotic thriller.
This week we get to a movie that sounds like it's the most GTTP movie ever filmed. Liam Neeson plays a snow plow driver out for murderous revenge. We started off hot and then...oh boy. Only problem is they accidentally forgot to include the star of the movie for 20 minutes and got lost giving screen time to one of the worst actors we've ever covered. Also this week enjoy a brief but unavoidable discussion of John Wick 3. Happy MDW everybody, enjoy.
